The 2,500sf fit-out is primarily a dog daycare located in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood Come, Play, Stay also offers grooming services and features a hands-on animal education and event centre on the second floor.
Safety and comfort for the dogs were central to the design. A coordinated system of interior and exterior gates ensures that dogs remain secure within the facility at all times while allowing staff to manage movement efficiently.
The daycare distinguishes itself by separating large and small dogs. Large dogs occupy the basement level alongside the grooming area, while small dogs are housed on the ground floor, which also includes pet retail and reception. Durable, hygienic materials, including Corian surfaces and Forbo sheet flooring, were selected for their ease of maintenance, longevity, and ability to keep the space clean and odour-free.
Creating an environment where owners feel confident leaving their pets was important to us and the clients. The end result is an easy to maintain, thoughtfully designed facility that incorporates natural light, creating a bright and welcoming environment.
